3-D Printing Studio

3-D printing creating the future of things! Using design skills and 3-D modeling software, create virtual objects and “print” them in the real world using an array of MakerBot 3-D printers. Guided by professional designers, you'll learn TinkerCad fundamentals, create 2- and 3-dimensional concept drawings, investigate abilities and limitations of 3-D printers, and explore occupations that use 3-D design and rapid prototyping. Each young maker will design and take home a set of design files and printed objects. All materials provided. Some printing completed on-site, or at FutureMakers labs and sent home to participants.

Advanced Robotics-Jungle Robot

The Ultimate Experience: Build and take home the Jungle Robot, an advanced-level robot. Also, put your imagination and skills to the test and work in small groups to build different robotic creatures. Test them for speed, strength and endurance. The robots built in this section are not taken home, but parts are reused to build yet another robotic creation. Test your creations in Sumo battles, tugs of war and vehicle distance timings.

Electronic Lab Workshop- 30 Electronic Gadgets

30 different projects and experiments are built with your own electronic kit to keep in this hands-on workshop. The Science Electronics Lab will stimulate kids’ minds by using easy to understand experiments to increase their knowledge of electronics. Science project ideas will come alive as they build the 30 projects while working with Electronic Circuits. The electronics kit is reusable. Have fun designing your own projects once you’ve built all 30. Kids can proceed at their own pace. Each participant will keep: an 80 page manual, 1 solderless circuit board, 12 resistors, 2 capacitors, 2 light-emitting diodes, 2 transistors, 1 battery snap, 1 diode, 1 speaker, 1 timer, 1 photocell, 1 rectifier, 1 potentiometer, and 1 switch. Learn the ins and outs of how they work. Kids will be grouped by age. Ages 7 - 12

Follow Me Robot

How would you like to build a robot that has four built-in microphones? It will detect the sound source and in turn it will move and turn accordingly. It is your own robot to build and take home. Wow! It starts flashing and plays Do-Re-Me. Make it move the way you want it to move. It is so smart. It will move in its own routine if it does not get a signal in 1 minute. It will go to sleep if you do not issue any commands in 90 seconds. However, you can wake it up. Learn about the different gears and sensors as you build it. Get to build other robots working in groups. Join in our Sumo wrestling and obstacle course events with what you have built. See everything happening as you build. That's the Sciensational way!

FutureFab-Light, Motion and Sound Lab

Design and build kinetic sculpture and electronic instruments using microcontrollers, audio and design software, motors, LED’s, professional grade tools and materials. Perfect for aspiring technologists, musicians, electronics experts and 21st century design professionals. No experience required - our experts coach each participant through the design and creation of their designs. All projects go home for further programming and exploration. In conjunction with FutureMakers.

Hover Craft- Design Your Own Vehicle- Egg Drop Car

Do you want to design and build things that you create, not just a model you purchase? Well this is the place for you. Build and keep an air powered Hover Craft. You make it defy gravity. Once it's up and moving, then using your creativity, control its direction. You will also get to build and take home your own super car powered by more than one source of energy. This can be one crazy looking vehicle. We provide you with many materials for that dynamic vehicle that you will build. Finally, you will also get to build an Egg Drop Car. The purpose is to build a gravity vehicle that can cushion a raw egg as the car holding the egg is dropped from a high height. We provide you with the material to cushion the fall. You have to be creative. In these three challenges in one workshop, you will learn about Laws of Motion, Energy, Air Pressure, Friction, Lift, Speed, and Acceleration. You are never too young to learn and have fun in a Sciensational hands-on way.
