Enjoy a variety of visual arts activities and meet new artist friends from throughout the county. Drawing, painting, and other art mediums will be explored. A student art show will be held on the last day. Children with no art background are welcome, as are those with art experience. Art supplies provided.
Designed as a two-week course (in conjunction with Color with Pencil & Brush II which is offered the following week), this class combines instruction in colored pencil and water-colored pencil techniques and includes fascinating color facts. See how color can add depth and create mood and harmony to your artwork. The second week of this session (Color with Pencil & Brush II) will conclude with an art show.
Students will learn to improve their drawing abilities and explore a variety of pencil drawing techniques. Students enrolled in Just Pencil may continue with this course. New students are also welcome. Sketch book is provided, just bring a pencil.

Let's make a marionette from scratch. Cutting wooden pieces for the body, dowel sticks for the arms and legs, shaping the paper mache'head with an expressive face, creating a cloth costume to dress your character. WOW! What fun!! Then we would string it and perform on a puppet stage. Ages 10-14
Although there is no prerequisite, this new class is especially designed as a follow up to Ms. Mahan's "Summer Artist Series" at HCC. This course offers additional instruction and includes a variety of media. Students will experience being able to work in a real studio setting.
