Crochet a Seat Cover/Rug  

Now is your chance to learn to crochet in just a few, short sessions. Crochet a round seat cover for a bar stool or crochet a small round rug. Bring the following supplies to the first class: 7 yards of washed fabric, a large crochet hook (a couple sizes past size P-11.50 mm), a large quilting ruler, a cutting map, chalk/pen, rotary cutter or sharp fabric scossors.

Knitting A Scarf  

Knit a scarf in your school colors! Learn cast on, cast off, stockinette, and purl stitch. Bring a needle, size 8 (5.5mm), yarn #4 thickness, striped yarn (2 or 3 skeins) or individual skeins (2 or 3), one of each color of your school colors.

Quilted Jacket  

Hone your sewing skills by creating a quilted jacket. Skills include straight stiching with your sewing machine, using a cutting mat, a rotary cutter, and a quilting ruler. Bring your sewing machine and an extention cord to class. Additional supplies discussed at the first session.

Sewing for Beginners  

Learn to operate your machine like a pro! Using your personal sewing machine, learn skills that will help you master the basics. Learn to select a pattern and material that is appropriate for your sewing project, how to measure material and lay out the pattern, and basic sewing construction skills. You will combine these skills to make pajama pants, a practical, yet fun, beginning project. Bring your sewing machine, extension cord, scissors, thread, test fabric, paper, and pencil to the first session. A supply list of additional supplies will be provided in class.

Sewing: Basic Alterations  

Bring in your pants and shorten the legs, your jacket and shorten the arms, or whatever item might need some basic alterations. Students should bring a sewing machine and have mastered simple sewing basics such as straight stitching and zig zag. Bring thread, needle, scissors, measuring tape, pins, sewing machine, and extension cord to each session.
