Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider  

Enhance your skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This American Heart Association course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospital. Content emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival; the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions; and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation. Must have a working knowledge of cardiac dysrhythmias. Textbook included. Email safety@chepinc.org to obtain your copy. All students are required to complete the pretest, located in the textbook, prior to the first class. Successful completion of both a written and a skills exam and a current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card are required to receive an ACLS Provider card. Refresh your skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This American Heart Association course is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the resuscitation of a patient, whether in or out of hospital, and need to renew their certification. To qualify for the renewal course, you must have a working knowledge of dysrhythmia recognition and provide evidence of a current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card and a current ACLS Provider card. Healthcare Provider CPR  

This course is designed for medical care providers and provides instruction for CPR (one- and two-rescuer) and relief of choking for the adult, child, and infant victim. Topics include the use of airway devices like the bag valve mask and various pocket masks. All participants must be able to kneel on the floor beside a manikin for extended periods of time. There is a 25-question test with a passing score of 84% required. Textbook required and available in the College Store. Senior adult and disabled retiree tuition waivers apply. Transcript available.

Heartsaver AED  

Learn basic CPR and AED skills! If you are a first responder, an individual needing credentialed training for job or regulatory requirements, or interested in learning life-saving interventions, this class is for you. Topics include giving CPR to an infant, child, or an adult, using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), using a mask or barrier device, and relief of choking. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider  

Are you a healthcare provider interested in pediatric resuscitation? Enroll in this course developed by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Using case presentations, content focuses on critical issues through the application of cognitive and psychomotor skills. You will have an opportunity to practice emergency techniques such as intraosseous needle insertion, ventilating a child with a bag valve mask, intubation, umbilical line insertion, and cardioversion/defibrillation for children of various ages.
