|Transform everyday materials, treasured mementos, and objects of interest from a haphazard collection into eclectic pieces of art using collage, building, and art making techniques. Just as Joseph Cornell arranged fragments of things he found on his frequent trips to bookshops and thrift stores, you will learn to elevate your own items from being randomly stored trinkets and souvenirs into objects of art to be proudly displayed, as well as clean out that junk drawer and workshop! Some materials will be provided, further materials will be discussed during the first class. Some drawing and painting skills may be used but are not necessary. Media such as acrylic and watercolor paint, colored pencil, pastel, charcoal, ink, and pencil will be among those discussed. For examples, reference artists Joseph Cornell, Jimmy Descant, and Bev Soasey.
