Open your mind to the world of abstract painting! Focus on how color and form can be used to create new environments and new imagery to create a unique body of work. Various approaches of painting techniques will be used as a vehicle for pure expression and guide each artist to find their own creative voice. Ceramic Raku Workshop  

Learn Raku, the ancient Japanese style of firing pottery. This method can be used on either hand-built or wheel-thrown pieces. Participate in the firing process and leave with your finished work at the end of the firing day. The first Saturday is spent creating work, Friday evening is the glaze night, and the second Saturday is the firing day. Class times: first session 12-5 p.m.; second session Friday, 5:30-9:30 p.m.; last session Saturday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. No experience necessary.

Drawing Comic Books and Manga  

Explore the techniques and skills needed to create your own Comic Books and Manga. Topics include penciling, inking and lettering basics; drawing skills that emphasis anatomy, perspective, shadow and light, and proper proportions; inking techniques such as pen & brush with dipped ink, mechanical pens and special effects; and drawing guidelines that map out sizes and placement of word balloons and text.

Rosemaling  

Rosemaling is Norwegian for "decorative painting" and is a form of decorative folk art that originated in the rural valleys of Norway. Explore this style of decorative painting on wood that uses stylized flower ornamentation, scrollwork, lining, and geometric elements, often in flowing patterns. Supply fee of $50 payable to the instructor at the first session. Includes woodenware, patterns, and brushes.

Zendala Workshop  

Zendala is a hybrid of the Mandala Circle and Zentangle Art and is designed to give you the benefits of both art forms. You don't need to know how to draw - just keep an open mind and be willing to take that first step on a fun, relaxing and mindful journey. Learn the history and purpose of a mandala and several Zentangle (R) patterns. Then, create your own Zendala. You will have your own piece of art to take with you, when you finish this journey.
