HCC's Continuing Education and Training Division is pleased to offer partial week child care for three- year-olds. (Partial week care is defined as three consistent days). Center operating hours are 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.. Our goal is to encourage children to develop emotionally and intellectually while gaining a positive self-image. The balanced curriculum includes music, art, crafts, storytime, drama, science, math, and language arts. Classes will meet in our new Early Learning Center on campus. Do you love cupcakes? Would you like to learn how to decorate some of the coolest cupcakes ever? At cupcake camp, we will make different cupcakes every day. We will even publish our own “Cupcake Cookbook”! There will be plenty of yummy tasting and cupcake fun and games to go around!
Dynasty Dance will teach your child the basics of Ballet and Jazz. Throughout the program we will also provide education about the different dance forums and a short history about where dance comes from. The last weeks are focused on reviewing skills and learning choreography for a mini recital at the end of the 12 week session.
Join us for an exciting 12 weeks of sports mix. During the 12 weeks we will be working on learning the basic skills of Soccer, Lacrosse, Basketball, and 3 weeks of Kids in Motion. Kids in Motion will cover several other sports and fitness concepts such as Track and Field, Volleyball, and Tabata. We will also play fun warm-up games and learn about stretching. Kids in Motion will cool down with Yoga.
Children will stretch their imaginations as well as their toes as they dance their way through a storybook collage of fairy tales. Children will explore elements of creative movement, modern, ballet, and jazz and construct simple costumes and props in a daily craft activity. Look forward to an enchanting dance presentation for family and friends. Attire: Leotard, tights, and ballet slippers or socks. Bring a snack and drink daily.
Let us make your child’s early experience in the sport of soccer both positive and fun! Focus will be on getting comfortable with the ball and will include basic soccer skills such as dribbling, passing and shooting through fun games and lesson plans. Real game situations will also be presented. These classes are taught in partnership with Dynasty Sports Academy and run by Pro Soccer Player Mike Lookingland and staff.
Join us as we continue our journey in reading. Word families and phonic decoding skills will be emphasized. This class is also great for second graders who haven't mastered reading. Instructor has over 35 years teaching experience in the public schools. Must be able to recognize basic sight words.
Is your child ready and willing to read? Join us for a fun-filled reading adventure for children who already recognize the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. Reading skills will be taught through song, sight, and phonic recognition. Techniques and ideas will be provided for practice at home. Class size is limited so register early. The instructor has over 35 years teaching experience in the public schools.
Presenting a great opportunity for your young child, ages 3-6, to learn Spanish through games and student-centered activities. This opportunity is available to students with no Spanish language experience. The class will include an introduction to Spanish with hands-on activities such as games, songs, crafts, and stories.
