Designed for students who know how to swim and float but wish to refine the crawl stroke and learn the elementary backstroke. Treading water, survival floating and underwater swimming, as well as safety skills, will be taught. This course is open to adults only.
Noodles, aqua belts, and all kinds of toys are used in this program. Students will experience aerobic and anaerobic activity while targeting all the muscles groups. While all fitness levels can enjoy this program, this workout is designed for students who want a challenge. Not for the faint hearted. Come and join the fun.
Known as the Zumba "pool party," Aqua Zumba gives new meaning to the idea
of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting - even shouting,
laughing, hooting, and hollering - are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class.
Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness
disciplines, Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging,
water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of
all, exhilarating beyond belief.
Aqua Zumba uses mostly Latin music rhythms such as Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa,
and Reggaeton, but can also use a variety of upbeat tempos as found in
international music. Because of the resistance of the water, Zumba movements will be slower and adjusted to the water environment; however, the workout can be just as intense.
Water shoes are needed for this class.
