This course covers the basic concepts of electronics: Semiconductor and zener diodes, junction field-effect and metallic-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors, bipolar and unijunction transistors. This course introduces students to the history, responsibilities, and career opportunities within the engineering technology field. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students study report writing, calculator usage, data collection and analysis, measurement systems, geometry, right triangle trigonometry, and basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
