Spring 2015 HCC Conference- Understanding Maryland EXCELS (in Partnership with MSDE). This conference is to help Child Care Directors and Educators better navigate and understand Maryland EXCELS. Well over 200,000 children age 3 and younger now live in Maryland. Join us for an evening to review what early learning guidelines can be used to create a valuable part of a comprehensive, high quality system that contributes to young children’s educational experiences and to their future success. This conference will earn you 3 Core of Knowledge CEUs in Professionalism. Opening Remarks will begin at 8:30am, Sessions will be held from 9am-12:30, and closing remarks will be from 12:30-1pm. Designed to provide students with knowledge to meet the needs of the young child from birth to age seven. Emphasis is on the practical aspects of caring for young children, creating environmental settings instrumental in providing optimal development, and guidelines for selecting quality childcare and educational programs. Readings and discussions on special concerns and current issues in the field of child development will be offered.
